Explore the coast and mountains of Western Canada while staying at cozy log cabins.
The route and accommodations of this tour will appeal to any Canada enthusiast. The itinerary starts in the modern city of Calgary, then continues to the majestic Rocky Mountains and the legendary Cariboos and on to the idyllic Sunshine Coast. Two nights in the cosmopolitan city of Vancouver complete this trip. The accommodations included are typically Canadian log cabins which are comfortable, cozy and practical featuring a living room, bedroom and full kitchen. Three nights will be spent at most locations to make sure there is plenty of time to explore and participate in activities such as hiking, horseback riding, canoeing and kayaking.

Welcome to Alberta! Arrival at Airport, pick up of rental vehicle and drive to the hotel.
Overnight is at the Sandman Hotel in Downtown Calgary.
In the morning, there is time for a city walk. Most highlights, such as the Calgary Tower, Olympic Plaza, Chinatown and Eau Claire Market, are within easy walking distance of your hotel. You then follow the Trans-Canada Highway to the Rocky Mountains. Three nights are spent at the Castle Mountain Chalets in Banff.
These two days are spent exploring Banff National Park. Some of the highlights are: Lake Louise and the famous hotel Chateau Lake Louise, Lake Moraine and Johnston Canyon. You may also want to take the gondola up to Sulphur Mountain and visit the little town of Banff.
The route today first leads you through Yoho National Park and then through Glacier National Park. In Yoho National Park the sights include Emerald Lake and the Natural Bridge. You might also want to stop at the visitor centre at Rogers Pass in Glacier National Park. A stroll along the Giant Cedars Trail just before Revelstoke is also recommended. You then check in at Glacier House Resort near Revelstoke for the next three nights.
A trip to Mount Revelstoke National Park is on the agenda today. An amazing view and beautiful alpine meadows will be your reward. The town of Revelstoke and the railway museum are well-worth visiting too.
Along the Trans-Canada Highway you continue into the legendary Cariboos. Three nights are spent at Wettstone Guest Ranch, near Bridge Lake.
Day at leisure! There is lots to do on the Ranch: canoeing, swimming or fishing at the private little lake. You may also go horseback riding or for a walk around the lake.
Today you continue to the Coast Mountains and the worldrenowned resort town of Whistler. Along the way you may want to visit Hat Creek Ranch, one of the roadhouses along the original Cariboo Wagon Road. In Whistler, two nights are spent at Riverside Resort Cabins.
You may want to enjoy the Peak2Peak Adventure today, which is the longest and highest gondola worldwide. Some excellent alpine hiking can also be reached via this gondola. Be sure to save time for the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre, if you are interested in the history of Canada’s first nations.
Today it is on to Horseshoe Bay where you take the ferry to the Sunshine Coast. It will be another 140 km and one more ferry crossings until you reach the idyllic little town of Lund. Three nights will be spent at Desolation Sound Resort which boasts wonderful chalets and a beautiful location overlooking Desolation Sound.
These two days are spent exploring the Sunshine Coast. You may want to take the water taxi to Savary Island which lies in the rain shadow of the Coast Mountains and enjoys a sunny and warm climate. The white sandy beaches and the warm, turquoise water are great for sunbathing and swimming. Desolation Sound is a playground for outdoor lovers as well. The 8,256 hectare marine park offers unlimited kayaking, canoeing, fishing and swimming.
Along the Sunshine Coast you return to Horseshoe Bay today. From there it is only a few kilometres to the
cosmopolitan city of Vancouver. Two nights will be spent at the Moda Hotel.
Vancouver, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, is definitely worth a visit! On a hop-on hop-off city tour with Big Bus (optional) you will visit many of Vancouver’s attractions such as Stanley Park, historic Gastown, Chinatown and Granville Island.
Check out at the hotel and drive to the Airport, drop the car and take the flight back home.
